Abstract
- The article focuses on the attempt by environmentalists to use the 2007 Christmas season as a platform for "green marketing" of environmentally friendly goods, services and practices. While polls show that a majority of Americans wish the holidays were less materialistic, many people also believe an emphasis on environmental themes strikes a tone of austerity at what is meant to be the year's most festive celebration.
