Abstract
- The article reports that outgoing president of the French Chemical Society (SFC), Armand Lattes has been traveling Europe giving accounts of the association's history during its 150th anniversary. A brief history of the association is presented. The association has a current membership of about 4,000. Lattes cites several excellent science in the 20th century produced by France, including Jean-Marie Lehn's supramolecular chemistry and Yves Chauvin's study of metathesis reactions.
