Abstract
- The article features several conservationalists in the U.S. Ray Howell, founder of the Kicking Bear Foundation, holds free bowhunting and archery for disadvantaged youths. Dick Sternberg, former biologist for the Department of Natural Resources, convinced the state legislature to approve the Accelerated Stocking program which aims to raise fish stocking at lakes. Under the leadership of Dick Blythe, chairman of the Indiana Grand Kankakee Marsh Restoration Project, the program has obtained 18,000 acres of wetlands and raised over $15 million since 1994.
