Abstract

The author comments on articles by Ed Offley and J.B. Bryant about the sinking of the submarine USS Scorpion on May 22, 1968 and the effort of the U.S. Navy to cover up the involvement of the Soviet Union, that was previously published in the journal. The author refutes Offley's claim that an Echo II class Soviet submarine had actually torpedoed Scorpion. The author points to photographic coverage of the Scorpion wreck which shows no structural damage consistent with explosion of a torpedo.
