- The article discusses vacation alternatives to Las Vegas, Nevada. As Las Vegas gets more crowded and expensive, other gambling resorts have become increasingly popular. MGM Mirage has opened an $800 million casino-hotel complex in Detroit, Michigan. Reno, Nevada, Atlantic City, New Jersey, and Tunica, Mississippi are among other cities that combine ample accommodations with fine dining, entertainment, and gambling.
