No sweeter with sugar glut.

The article evaluates the financial performance of Australia's small-scale sugar production industry for the year ended June 2006, as studied from data collected by the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics. Sugar farmers who produced less than 7,500 tons had average profit margins of $6 a ton while producers of more than 50,000 tons had average of profit margins of $10.60 a ton due to the decline in sugar prices worldwide.
