Abstract

The article reports on a study involving a patient with lumbar radiculopathy caused due to thrombosed lumbar epidural varix. It reports that the epidural varix was a result of inferior vena cava thrombosis originating from factor V Leiden mutation in the patient. It discusses that the cause of radiculopathy in patient was identified by the use of contrast-enhanced computerized tomography. It mentions that patient was administered with intravenous heparin treatment and reports that all symptoms were fully resolved after the initiation of treatment. Also mentioned are different therapies for different conditions of the disease.
