Abstract

A definition of the term "busking" in music is presented. It was originally a cant or underworld term used by pirates and others who seek illicit gains from evil practices. Busking referred to the selling of obscene books and song sheets in public houses and inns especially in London, England. The term was also used to describe vagrants or street entertainers held in low regard.
