Abstract
- The article offers information about a research called the Southern Elephant Seals as Oceanographic Samplers (SEaOS) in the Antarctic Ocean. In the project, the researchers have placed sensors to the head of 85 elephant seals for tracking purposes to obtain better real-time information on temperature changes and current flows across the area. It is stated that the sensor provided data on location, depth, ocean's temperature as well as its salinity levels which were passed to the National Oceanographic Data Center in the U.S. and the Coriolis Center in France.
