It is suggested that rather than buying a bulky scope for rifles, hunters can invest in a rangefinder and a scope with a range-compensating reticle. It is stated that one of the most promising of these is Nikon Inc.'s New Monarch, with a reticle called the Bullet Drop Compensation (BDC).
