Recent Tendencies in Criminal Procedure Reforms in Latin America.

This paper analyzes the last ten years of intense criminal procedure reforms in Latin America. The paper argues that the reforms have been at the intersection between three discourses: law and development, democratization, and Latin American due process, and that in order to understand some of the shortcomings of the reforms it is helpful to analyze the limits of each of these discourses as well as the tensions between them. ..PAT.-Conference Proceeding [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
