Abstract

The article compares the potential of Russia and China for economic growth and industrial development. According to the literature on modernization and development, the federation was more advanced than China in terms of literacy levels and numbers of specialists as well. Also emphasized is the difference in how Chinese and Russian elites view globalization. It analyzes whether a Chinese model of development really exists.
