Abstract
- The article discusses the concept of the Modern Sherwood Forest which refers to internal disorder that draws political activists and allows them to engage in military training and establish clandestine transnational networks. It explains the phases of the Modern Sherwood Forest. It offers an overview of the cases of Lebanon, Afghanistan and Iraq as Modern Sherwood Forests. The author argues that many of the potential threats to global security stem from the Modern Sherwood Forests that are impossible to deter and difficult to contain.
