Abstract

The article discusses the intellectual property and the modern state in Africa. It states that global corporations provide a source of technology, market access and capital, all of which states seek driving economic growth, while states offer territory and set up the rules of the game by which firms may operate within that territory. It cites that the identity of Africa is affected by external forces as the indigenous intellectual property of the continent and its natural resources are targeted as a focal point in a global technological revolution.
