Abstract

The author reflects on the various approach in protection against tumor developments. He stated DNA repair serves a dominating role in safeguarding against tumor growth but mismatch repair deficiencies and the consequent microsatellite instability may lead to multi-cancer syndromes. He said that intercellular surveillance is another powerful defense mechanism against tumor, which is based on the interaction between tumor cells and their host environment.
