Abstract
- The article focuses on the successful negotiations over the restoration and preservation of a holy site in Punjab, India claimed by Sikhs, Hindus and Muslims alike. The author explains how the interreligious dialogue concerning a mosque supposedly constructed by the Sikh guru Hargobind successfully avoided its destruction. The negotiation was considered successful because the overall will of the decision makers and the community was committed to promote understanding and effect a resolution. The article also challenges the notion that mosque are always exclusively Muslim sites.
