Abstract

The article presents information on systemic infections, such as hepatic abscesses or peritonitis, which is caused by Yersinia enterocolitica and Yersinia pseudotuberculosis. According to the author, the infection usually occur in elderly people whom have underlying iron overloading condition such as hemochromatosis or beta-thalassemia major.
