Abstract
- The article focuses on female regional Mexican musicians. Particular attention is given to the increase in popularity of female musicians between 2004-2007. The author reports that while there was only one female act in the top 20 of "Billboard's" year-end regional Mexican charts for 2004 and 2005, there have been three in both 2006 and 2007. Featured female musicians include Jenni Rivera, Graciela Beltran, Diana Reyes, and Virginia Terrazas.
