Abstract

Evaluates the effects of intravenous pyruvate on cardiovascular and neocortical function, indexes of the cytosolic redox state and cellular energy state during controlled arterial hemorrhage in sedated swine. Intravenous pyruvate effects on hemodynamics, oxygen delivery and oxygen consumption; Effects on blood electrolytes, acid-base status, lactate and lactate/pyruvate ratio.
