Iowa Permits Same-Sex Marriage, for 4 Hours, Anyway.

The article reports that several same-sex couples from across Iowa converged on its county Des Moines on August 31, 2007 to get their marriage certificate. They ascended on the county soon after word spread that county judge Robert B. Hanson had declared the state ban on same-sex marriage unconstitutional. But four hours later, the same judge delayed further granting of licenses until state Supreme Court decided on an appeal against the judgment.
