Making the paper: Phil Cummins.

The article focuses on the efforts made by geologist Phil Cummins in the risk assessment of probable tsunamis from the Indian Ocean. Cummins reveals that the earthquake which occurred in 2004 in Sumatra, Indonesia have motivated the pursuance of his work. However, he faced numerous problems during the assessment including the scarcity of geological surveys in the ocean. He notes that the limited evaluation in the region causes difficulty in the detection of surface-stress movements that precede earthquakes.
