Abstract: The article discusses plans to build a mosque in Cologne, Germany. German-Jewish writer Ralph Giordano, a Holocaust survivor, has urged the city council to stop their plans to erect the mosque. Those in favor of the plan include the city's Muslim population and several of the Roman Catholic clergy. A similar situation in London, England, is mentioned for generating global attention over divided beliefs on the building of a mosque in its Newham borough.
