Abstract
- The article reports on the impact of continued robust demand for short-term paper on Treasury bills in the U.S. on August 29, 2007. Report says that the trend spurred record demand for the government's auction of two-year notes. The overall government bond market finished lower amid gains in stocks and written remarks from U.S. Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke that reminded investors that the Fed will cut rates only if the current turmoil hurts the U.S. economy. The benchmark 10-year note also declined during the day.
