Abstract

The article offers information on the plight of immigrants in Queens, New York City. It exemplifies an old woman from Syria who use to beg on the sidewalks on 37th Avenue in Jackson Heights in the area. It states that most people living in the area have roots in developing countries, however, they loathe female beggars, as, according to them, it doesn't give a good impression of the area.
