Educating and Empowering Dental Hygienists to Be More and Do More.

The author reflects on the lack of dental care of children in New Orleans. She said dental hygienist should do outreach program to educate people and prevent dental diseases, also to apply fluoride varnish and sealants to children and others who may not receive regular dental care and to provide the necessary treatment needed. She met children during their community outreach project and taught children about good oral health and the correct way of brushing their teeth.
