Abstract
- A three-dimensional biomechanical analysis on baseball pitching technique among adolescent is presented. The purpose of the study was to understand the etiology of injuries common to adolescent baseball pitchers. Kinetic and kinematics data for the lower and upper extremities, thorax, and pelvis of 24 adolescent pitchers were collected and analyzed using three-dimensional computerized motion analysis. Result of the measurements of motion of forearm, wrist shoulders, thorax and pelvic are analyzed. It is concluded that the measured parameters and the difference between adolescent and adult pitchers can be used to determine causes of pitching injuries.
