Psychosocial interventions and opioid detoxification for drug misuse: summary of NICE guidance.

The article presents an overview the guidelines and recommendations for psychosocial interventions and opioid detoxification for drug misuse which have been created by Great Britain's National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE). A discussion of changes which have been seen in the treatment of drug addicted individuals in Great Britain is presented. NICE's recommendations for psychosocial and detoxification programs were developed from and are based on the systematic reviews of the best available evidence the organization had.
