Abstract

The article discusses the advantages of using paperslip in ceramics. According to the author, a paperslip is a casting slip into which a certain amount of paper pulp has been mixed. It is used because of the great drying and gluing qualities it offers. It is similar to paperclay. The new paperslip should not be used immediately because the mixing action introduces air bubbles into the mix. It is recommended to let fresh paperslip rest overnight because the bubbles can eventually lead to undesirable pinholing.
