Abstract
- The author reflects on the issues faced by hospital pharmacists, particularly the increasing vacancy rate in pharmacy leadership positions and their role in the success of hospitals in the U.S. He refers the issue to the findings of a study conducted for the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP). Moreover, the author concluded that pharmacy directors should strive to perform and be perceived as middle managers who help health care organizations attain their strategic goals.
