Abstract
- This editorial comments on studies that have examined the inherited genetic causes of diseases such as prostate and breast cancer, diabetes and in this issue, coronary artery disease. The amount of data in the studies is five times more than in previous studies due to the use of microarray, or chips, that can process more than 500,000 single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in a single sample. The author fears that this ability could result in false positive results.
