Abstract

The article discusses research being done on porcine protein lactoferrin. It references a study by Winston Cheng and colleagues, published in the June 13, 2007 issue of the "Journal of Agriculture and Food Chemistry." The study used lactoferrin to create a hybrid gene to promote lactoferrin secretion in transgenic mice. It concluded that mice fed with enriched milk grew quicker than those fed on ordinary milk.
