The article examines the conflict of interest faced by investments banks in Australia in terms of choosing whether to prioritize their corporate clients or favor private equity companies. According to the author, investment bank advisory groups are facing increased pressure since the increase in the number of private equity firms competing against companies for acquisitions in the country. The implication of the trend on individual advisers is discussed.
