Abstract
- This article presents an editorial on the use of the flu treatment drug Tamiflu and a resulting neuropsychiatric disturbance in adolescents. In March 2007 Japanese authorities advised against giving Tamiflu to teens after two suicides. No action has been taken in Europe or the U.S. because the case against the drug has not been clearly been made. However, the author urges physicians to use the drug only in patients with high risk of complications after the flu and not for otherwise healthy individuals.
