Abstract

The article focuses on the marketing strategy called "software plus services" employed by computer technology company Microsoft Corp. in the U.S. According to Microsoft chief executive officer (CEO) Steven Anthony Ballmer and other company executives, Microsoft's strategy involves providing on-site offerings hosted by the company itself and other partners. Ballmer claimed that this strategy will offer customers the power of choice and expand the opportunities for partners. Former Exchange Server executive Keith McCall said that Microsoft and its partners have a lot of chances to address the criticality of Microsoft Exchange by delivering managed on-premises and hosted off-premises offerings.
