Abstract

The article focuses on the Auto Warehousing Co.'s technology-related strategic plan to retain some Microsoft Corp. technology, which will be announced during a managers' meeting on July 29, 2007 in the U.S. The company aims to retain its main client/server software Vehicle Inventory Processing System (VIPS) running on Microsoft Structured, Query Language (SQL) Server on the back end. Such an initiative is a result of proof-of-concept testing, which depicts the company's capability of reducing costs, increasing system reliability and security, and expanded information technology (IT) infrastructure to Apple Inc. In return, such a strategy is believed to provide Apple a part of the Microsoft-heavy automotive industry.
