Reproducibility of HOMA-IR Measurements in the Evaluation of Pediatric Obese Patients.

The article focuses on a study concerning the reproducibility of homeostatic model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) measurements during evaluation of pediatric obese patients. The study examined the reproducibility of HOMA-IR made on two occasions in obese youth at risk for type 2 diabetes (T2D). It notes that the subjects were grouped by specified HOMA-IR levels. Results indicated that HOMA-IR for obese youth have the tendency to vary more as compared to those of obese adults.
