Abstract

The article features the historic architectures and sites in Durham, England. The historic buildings include the century-old Durham Cathedral where fugitives hammered for sanctuary in the late 10th century, the Durham Castle founded by William the Conqueror which lies opposite to the cathedral, and the shrine of St. Chubert. The tourist attractions include the Crook Hall and Gardens, the River Wear, and the Botanic Garden.
