Abstract
- The article reports that India's information technology industry may slow down if the country does not resolve challenges brought about by appreciating currency, severe worker shortage, rising taxes, and visa restrictions. India's annual budget for 2007 is not helping matters, as it added a set of deterrents in the form of new taxes and restrictions for the amount of foreign information technology professionals United States firms can hire. The country is also hampered by a lack of skilled workers, which is resulting in a huge increase in salaries.
