Abstract

This article focuses on the position of closer in collegiate baseball, a role that often proves to be a fast lane to professional baseball. Several collegiate pitchers are briefly profiled, including Eddie Kunz, Andrew Carignan, and Joe Savery. Commentary from Carginan is provided. The article also discusses closers Chad Cordero and Huston Street, who debuted in Major League Baseball within months of completing their collegiate careers.
