Abstract
- The article reports on an appeal made by a north-east producer to Northumbrian Water regarding its grassland management policies that damage bird breeding habitats and reduce the beneficial effects of farm environment schemes in England. Farmer Martin Lowcock says that Northumbrian Water contractors cut the grass around a 5.6 hectare (ha) reservoir next to his land. But a spokeswoman for Northumbrian Water tells that the firm was committed to wildlife and environmental protection.
