Abstract: The article focuses on the recommended medical treatments by the British National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) based on its consultation papers published on May 30 and June 4, 2007. NICE has recommended multiple myeloma patients with a full or partial response to bortezomib to continue such treatment. It also approved the use of varenicline as an optional treatment for adults who wish to quit smoking.
