Abstract

The article discusses a prospective study on the clinical effects of overdose with olanzapine conducted by Australian researchers. The study found that olanzapine overdose causes delirium and central nervous system (CNS) depression and requires significant inpatient resources. It was also found that patients who experienced delirium had an increased intensive care unit (ICU) admission and length of stay (LOS). Researchers recommend that patients should be observed for at least six hours.
