Abstract: The article presents commentary on various international and domestic U.S. politics as of the week of August 21, 1971. Congressional debate over general policy of granting military and economic assistance to various countries such as Greece and Pakistan is discussed. The political defection of New York Mayor John Lindsay to the Democratic Party is analyzed. Loopholes in the 1971 legislation restricting campaign finance are highlighted.
