Abstract
- The article discusses the modeling approach used by ground water hydrologists and resource managers to understand and manage natural and anthropogenically affected systems. According to the author, conceptual modeling starts the moment a hydrologist visit a site, and evolves to form the basis of analytical and numerical models. The first quantitative model of groundwater flow develop in 1865 by Engineer Henry Darcy was used as the foundation of all modern analytical and numerical groundwater models.
