Abstract
- The article discusses the findings of a public opinion poll conducted by Gallup and the periodical "USA Today" on the preparedness of the government for a natural disaster. According to the results, citizens are distinctly confident that local officials are prepared for such disasters. It states that two-thirds of those surveyed said that the federal authorities are not ready. Also noted is that community first responders, including local police, garnered the highest marks for readiness.
