Abstract

The article focuses on a grain elevator in the Gowanus Industrial Park in New York City. The grain elevator is 429 feet long with silos nine stories high. It has been lying vacant since the year 1965. According to John Quadrozzi, the president of the industrial park, the park is seeking government approval for a concrete manufacturing plant that would use the silos for storing cement.
