Abstract
- The article discusses the author's experience of being a resident of a community who was instrumental in the formation of the Anderson Valley Foodshed Group to create a healthy, vibrant and local food system in Anderson Valley, California. She relates that she was part of the campaign to ban the growing of genetically modified crops. She narrates that the group organized programs to encourage people to eat food which was grown within 100 miles of their home.
