Abstract: The intestinal flora can appear noxious in certain infectious or post-antibiotic diarrhoeas. This complex ecosystem is modified and increases quantitatively in short bowel syndrome, thus being able to modify the prognosis of it. The clinicians seek, by the use of molecular tools for the analysis of the intestinal flora, in particular in certain digestive diseases, to better understand the interactions between flora and digestive tract.
