Abstract
- Use a two-phase test facility to calibrate the measured diameter and concentration of the PDA system in forward scatter. In the experiment, the standard pilot was used to measure velocity and the pressure sensor was used to gives the on-line weight of glass beads. The speed mean value and the concentration mean value of measurement section can be calculated. Surveying the concentration with different dimension PDA in forward scatter, by comparison with the demarcation result, the uncertainty basically in 30% scope, and the error tendency of 1D PDA, 2D PDA and the 3D PDA is increasing. Using the same dimension PDA to measure the concentration, with the concentration increasing, the experiment data is increasing. So the PDA system can be used to measure relative concentration. When the number of samples is bigger than 5000 at one point, the measured value tends to be steady and close to the true value. © 2007 American Institute of Physics [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
