Abstract

The article provides information on the history of the pizza. Pizza is an international comfort food which began as a Mediterranean flatbread popular among Greeks, Romans, Etruscans and the Egyptians. The pizza of Naples, Italy is said to be the precursor of modern pizza. It has moved around the world and has become a pan-ethnic cuisine.
